Effective January 20, 2022, a Groundwater District Fee imposed by North Texas Groundwater Conservation District (NTGCD) will be added on your monthly bill.  The GCD fee will be charged in the amount of $.15 per 1000 gallons used.  Mountain Springs Water is required to participate.

The purpose of the Groundwater District is to provide for the conservation, preservation, protection, recharging and prevention of water of groundwater, and of groundwater reservoirs or their subdivisions, consistent with the objective of Section 59, Article XVI, Texas Constitution.

The NTGCD (the “District”) was created by the 81st Texas Legislature under the authority of Section 59, Article XVI, of the Texas Constitution, and in accordance with Chapter 36 of the Texas Water Code, by the Act of May 27, 2009, 81st Leg., R.S., ch. 248, 2009 Tex. Gen. Laws 686, codified at Texas Special District Local Laws Code Ann. ch. 8856 (“the District Act”).
